The following items were discussed at the last committee meeting:

1. A proposal to start rides earlier during the heat of summer will be discussed at the November general meeting. Come along and have your say.
2. The committee suggested that all riders and pillions have ICE in their mobiles. That is, a number (or two) to be called "In Case of Emergency".
   It is also a good idea to have 112, rather than 000 as your emergency quick-dial number, as it works with ALL service providers.
3. The Christmas party will include a "Secret Santa". Please bring a $10:00 gift wrapped and marked male, female, or unisex, if you would like to participate. Also, Kushee is looking for donations for raffles to be held during the party. Please call her if you have something to contribute. And finally, Poo Bear needs to know how many members to cater for, so please let her know you are coming, preferably this week.

Hi all

Just a short note on the Christmas party.
Numbers are needed so please contact a member of the committee to advise of your attendence at this gala function.

Date:  6th December 2008
Venue:  Point Walter Recreation Camp (same as last year)
Time:  mid afteroon onwards till the next morning
Accomodation:  on site rooms
The function includes dinner, entertainment,  accomodation and breakfast the next morning
Dinner:     BBQ   steak chicken sausages salads and desserts
Breakfast:    fully cooked
Drinks:    BYO
Theme:    Op Shop Posh so dress up and party
Cost:   $30.00 members    $45.00  nominees   $60.00 non members

Come along and enjoy a great afternoon evening (and morning) of good company and fun filled entertainment.  There's a pool so bring your bathers and enjoy a swim.

I am contacting your club in the hope that one of your members may be able to help us in the search for an elusive part.
My son owns a "baby" Virago 250 (1994 model) and has lost the chrome cone whch fits between the upper, rear (false) header pipe and the upper muffler. Yamaha only supply these with a new exhaust system. If any of your members has a wrecked 250, or a wrecked exhaust system with and intact cone, I would love to hear from them.

G’Day Guys,

I was just wandering through your photos on the web, came across Pom and immediately thought of his special custom aluminium rear foot boards to suit an XV Virago 1100.

Pom, if you still have/make these I would be interested in buying a set please.

I had some when I was back in Perth (seems like a hundred years ago now) and writing the Spark for the Club.

I sold my lovely green Virago when I left Karratha to come to Qld but have again seen the light and bought a low mileage Virago XV 1100 which I use to commute from my home in Hervey (pronounced Harvey) Bay to Maryborough where I now work for the Blood Bank.

Anyway, would love to hear from you and whether you still have any foot boards.

John (U-E) Mitchell is home now, and would welcome visitors, since he's getting bored with TV and physio. His recovery has been remarkable, a testament to his fitness and unbreakable spirit, but if you're anywhere near Leeming at any time during the day, give him a a call to see if the kettle's on.

Do call first though, because he's in and out to the physio and Gloria is back at work!
