Ride Rules
- A "Ride Leader and "Tail End Charlie" will be nominated for all
official Club rides.
- "Tail End Charlie" will carry the Club saddle bags complete with tool
kit and first aid kit on all official Club runs.
- Riding positions shall be staggered behind the lead bike and a safe
riding distance of at least a two (2) second interval shall be observed
between riders.
- The rider immediately behind the leader, will wait on corners (but out
of the way of traffic) with the appropriate turn signal flashing to
indicate the route for the following riders.
- Riders will keep the person behind them in sight. If they drop
back, you drop back. In this way we hope not to get split up.

- Members shall ride responsibly and observe all State road laws,
- Speed limits and appropriate road craft for the riding conditions.
- Road use will not be monopolised to the detriment of other road users.
- Riders deviating or quitting the ride midway must notify the "Ride
Leader or "Tail End Charlie’ before leaving.
- Any rider who overtakes the ‘Ride Leader’ will be deemed to have left
the ride.
- A Club Ride Register will be maintained for each official Club Ride
with details of:

Information for Visitors who ride with Club Virago
All visitors are welcome to join club rides however here are a
few important ride rules we use for safety and we ask that you also observe
them.
Briefly they are:
1. STAGGER YOUR RIDE POSITION RELATIVE TO THE RIDER IN FRONT
(THIS MEANS DON'T RIDE DIRECTLY BEHIND)

Allow about 3 seconds between riders You may need the extra distance In an emergency!!
2 WAIT AT CORNERS If there is a rider behind and out of sight wait for him. When you see the next rider appear and the
rider sees where you’re going you can go on. This especially applies if you are
turning off to another road.
3 DON’T PASS ON THE LEFT Under no circumstances pass on the Inside of another rider unless you are
in a separate lane.
4 DON’T PASS THE LEADER If you pass the leader you have left the ride and you’re on your own…….you get lost ………..tough!!
IF YOU NEED A HAND WITH THE ABOVE ASK A MEMBER TO EXPLAIN
